About Specialist Acupuncture

All new (first time) patients are to have an acupuncture consultation before Specialist Acupuncture Treatment. The consultation can vary between 20 minutes to 1 hour pending on complexity of the health condition and health history of the patients.

Specialist Acupuncture Treatment often take 50 min to 1 hour. During the session, a combination of modalities are used including:

- Aromatherapy

All our acupuncture treatments include special aromatherapy to help you relax, reduce your stress and tension in the body and making your acupuncture session more enjoyable.

- heat

Most of our acupuncture treatments include heat unless it is undesirable for the condition. The heat slowly penetrates into the body through the acupuncture needle. It produces similar action to the traditional moxa cone. This helps to boost immune system, stimulate body functions as well as helping to reduce stress and tension in the body.

- electro-stimulator (additional charge may apply)

In patients with more severe conditions, electro-stimulation is used to boost the effectiveness of the normal acupuncture. This is only used if it is considered necessary by the practitioner.

- with acupressure massage (optional, additional charge may apply)

In patients with muscular problems such as back pain, shoulder problems and sciatica, acupressure massage may be given at the end of the session if it is beneficial for the condition
